Welcome to The Debrief, your weekly lifestyle recommendations pulled from our DMs, straight to your inbox.
We can’t lie, we’re thrilled to be back.
This week’s debrief is stacked—you’ll find the novel that has us glued to the page, the French restaurant of the summer, and the passport cover making our travel lives infinitely chicer.
Keep an eye out for our next installment of Tastemakers arriving next Friday, featuring one of our favorite creatives yet—who juuuust may have been featured in Architectural Digest.
You’ll have to wait ‘til next week to find out more.

We’ve done the work for you—our top recommendations for the week.
Seeing | The Women—Lexi here. This is my favorite Kristin Hannah novel yet. It transports you to 1965, following the lead protagonist, Frankie, as she leaves her sheltered life in Southern California to be a nurse at a war-ridden post in the heart of Vietnam. It’s emotionally rich, harrowing, and begs the question—who can be a hero and why. Worth a read.
Consuming | La Chêne—This new French fine dining spot came on our radar via Found NY, who declared it the restaurant of the summer. It’s traditional French cooking without the heaviness. Spring for a bottle of wine and the Pithiviers Terre & Mer. Go before it lands on the NYT best restaurant list.
On The Way Out | Loose Passports—When we travel, we like our Passport, Global Entry card, and Priority Pass card all in the same place. This passport cover from Royce comes with card slots to keep our VIP items all in one place. We favor the dark green with a debossed monogram.
Unearthing | Places & Corner—recommendation apps are on the rise, perhaps We Scouted needs to hop on the bandwagon. Places filters recs through tastemakers and is tailor-made for sophisticated millennials. Corner feels like the Gen Z alternative with recs curated by friends and friends of friends.
Trying | Silk Flowers—We’re eyeing these silk flowers and trying to girl math our way into purchasing. But we know there is someone out there in search of fake flowers that aren’t made of plastic and seemingly deceive the eye.

Films can be mood boards for taste.
Sometimes you come across a film so striking that it forces you to use the word cinematography.
We’re not cinephiles, but we do have a repertoire of visual references—films we turn to for points of inspiration.
Taste here isn’t about subtlety, it’s about total immersion:
If you want languid Italian summers, fruit, and sunlight… Call Me By Your Name.
If you want perfect symmetry and pastel maximalism… The Grand Budapest Hotel.
If you want early 90s realism, reframed through Afrocentric fashion… Poetic Justice.
If you want candy-coated decadence with a dose of French monarchy… Marie Antoinette.
If you want Scandinavian fields lit at perpetual golden hour… Midsommar.
If you want gastronomic delight with critiques of the ultra-rich… The Menu.
If you want neon-drenched melancholy and tenderness… Moonlight.
And lastly, if you just want to laugh… My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
